Heres one of my favorite childhood films that I havent been able to get my hands on till now.
After all these years, Ive been dying to see this film again. It always effected me as a child. I saw it twice on TV as a midday movie. It has stayed with me for years. The dvd has finally been released and me be very happy.
I always wondered if I'd still enjoy it, if it still held up. Its only been like 25-30 years since I've seen it. A lot has changed since then. But yes it still holds up. Oh I miss films like this. Films that didnt have to be arthousey or independent to be beautiful. Films that if they were made now they would just be cheesy.
Oh well thats enough nostalgia.
I remember this movie, though none of my friends seem to. Thisfilm hits close to home, as I was a mid-50's adopted infant...

Please... please tell me if near the end, Abby says "she screamed" - twice, I think - in response to someone deliberately trying to downplay what Muffy went through. I cannot get the momentary phrase and instance out of my head, but cannot remember the movie in which it was said. Help!! It's on replay!!
