Surrender the Pink is a romance novel by actress and author Carrie Fisher that was published in 1990.
The title term, surrender the pink, is a colloquialism pertaining to male sexual advances to a female. It comes from the phrase, "They're all pink on the inside."
This novel, like most of Fisher's books, is semi-autobiographical and fictionalizes events from her real life. It is said to be loosely based on her short marriage to singer Paul Simon.

Our Time or Death of Her Innocence 1974
Heres one of my favorite childhood films that I havent been able to get my hands on till now.
After all these years, Ive been dying to see this film again. It always effected me as a child. I saw it twice on TV as a midday movie. It has stayed with me for years. The dvd has finally been released and me be very happy.
I always wondered if I'd still enjoy it, if it still held up. Its only been like 25-30 years since I've seen it. A lot has changed since then. But yes it still holds up. Oh I miss films like this. Films that didnt have to be arthousey or independent to be beautiful. Films that if they were made now they would just be cheesy.
Oh well thats enough nostalgia.

Watching Cinema Paradiso for the very first time on a rainy Monday afternoon.
So its Monday again, and here in Melbourne its a cold and rainy day.
The perfect day for my first blog ever...... but before we start let's enjoy The Carpenters (a little off topic I know ) with the song of the day.
Anyway
So what to do on this perfect time waster of a day?
I know! Watch a film that I have (for no particular reason) seemed to have passed by.
Well its been 23 years since its debut and today I sat down and watched a Blu-ray copy of Cinema Paradiso for the very first time.

In a post about the 2001 film "Rain" they write:
"I've always been a sucker for "coming-of-age" stories like Catcher In the Rye and Good Times/Bad Times, and films like Summer of '42 and Cinema Paradiso, which turn me into a bowl of mush."
So finally it was time for me to see what the fuss about this film was about.
Wow, mush indeed, it was just beautiful from beginning to end.
I can't say nothing wrong about it.
And I ain't gonna ramble on about it either. If your already fan then you already know and if you have not seen this already (and have a soul) then do make some time for it.
My favorite line in the film,
Alfredo - " You know how it is, sooner or later a time comes when it's all the same whether you talk or not. So you might as well just shut up"
My sentiments exactly! (despite all irony)
So that's all for today.
Just a little one to start of with.
'till next time, Ciao.
